Steph and Paul's original wedding date could only cater for a handful of guests due to COVID restrictions. Pushing it back, even by 48 hours, meant they could have 150 people there. Much better! It was impressive how Steph and Paul, the venue, all the suppliers and guests moved everything to the following weekend without a hitch. Yes, pun intended. Jump to the Video
Contact UsSteph and Paul wanted us to focus on their ceremony with a few portraits around the estate immediately after. Although they didn't request any getting ready shots, and kept the photography and videography package down to 4 hours, we always like staging some prep shots as it adds a great variety to the collection of images and footage we'll achieve. So even though both Steph and Paul were all dressed when we arrived, here's how we created some fun moments along with some quiet ones before the action of the ceremony.
It's easy to see why Steph and Paul chose Bulong Estate as their wedding venue. The lawn with its decking stage is perfect for a charming outdoor ceremony, backing onto the vineyard. The open space also allowed us to take some creative shots from behind the stage, which is rarely possible at an indoor wedding.
Straight after the ceremony and group photos, it was onto the cake cutting, speeches and dance. They decided to get all the formalities done before the location shoot so that guests wouldn't have to wait around. This is a great idea for a shorter wedding.
Bulong Estate is a lovely property set on a hill with sweeping views of the Yarra Valley. Their venue manager Monica was super helpful, driving us around to some wonderful photography locations around the vineyard. The photo below of Paul carrying Steph... he didn't just carry her for the photo. He carried her all the way up the hill!
Let's round this off with a feature video of Steph and Paul's special day!
