Our city of Melbourne is a beautiful place for engagement photography. Nimisha and Premal were getting married overseas and we spent an afternoon with them capturing
some fun and classy shots around Melbourne's iconic locations. We started at the water wall of the NGV and worked our way through the lawns of the Art Centre up to Parliament House.
We really love looking at this album especially now during COVID times. It's a great reminder of what we can look forward to!
Nimisha and Premal were getting married overseas and as much as we would've loved to photograph their 3 day wedding celebration in India, we were happy to settle for their gorgeous engagement photos right here in Melbourne. We started our day at the National Gallery of Victoria where we got some lovely shots at the famous water wall, and dodged trams in front of the NGV to get a distance shot of the Shrine of Rememberance. Can you spot it in the background?
Then it was short walk next door to the Melbourne Art Centre where we captured some fun photos on the emergency staircase and the curved structures in the gardens. I always enjoy photographing weddings and engagements from the Melbourne Botanical Gardens through to the Southbank area because there are so many great locations like these all within walking distance.
Engagement photography wouldn't be complete without holding up letters! It's even better if you have the sun drenched cityscape of Melbourne behind you. Just a tip for all our engagement photography clients - we always encourage you to bring some props like letters, hearts, sentimental items, champagne glasses and make sure you're wearing your engagement ring! These items add a nice contrast to all the photos we'll take of you kissing!
The sun was setting as we reached Parliament House on Spring Street, but that made for some great diffused light photography in the shadow of the columns. The grandeur of the building provided a nice contrast to the graffiti shots we had just taken moments earlier and added to the variety of the set we could give Nimisha and Premal.
A great way to end our portrait session was to jump into a fountain! Well, almost. We hope your friends and family will enjoy these photos at your wedding as much as we enjoyed taking them! All the best and congratulations!
