Two awesome locations. Tim and Kat held their wedding ceremony in the foyer of 333 Collins Street, which many of us know as The Dome. With a 28m high, beautifully ornate domed ceiling, mosaic floor tiles that date back over 10 years, it's nothing short of spectacular. After a beautifully elegant ceremony, and in complete contrast, they went for a zany, fun reception at the Melbourne Museum! Contact UsLet's start at the morning, where it began with Kat and her bridesmaids getting ready in Kat's family home in Carlton.
Things then shifted up a gear with some hilarious wedding day fun as the groomsmen gatecrashed the bridesmaids. Kat was relegated to the bedroom upstairs as the groomsmen had to pass a series of tests set by the bridesmaids before Tim was permitted to view his beautiful bride.
Then it was off in the Beetle for a drive into the city to get married!
When you walk into The Dome for the first time, you instictively look up at the 28m high domed ceiling. As you soak in the architecture, you may also notice the gorgeous mosaic tiled floor. We love that bouquet toss photo above! Kat couldn't have thrown that bouquet more perfectly for the photo, and Dani our photographer couldn't have snapped the photo at a more perfect time!
High heels are hazardous, especially wedding shoes that are bought for their looks and not their comfort. By the end of the ceremony, Kat's feet were hurting and we could no longer walk to the photography locations we had planned in Carlton Gardens and Parliament House. We therefore had to find an alternate location very quickly that didn't require any walking to get to!
We opted for the cafe 3 doors down from Kat's home where the bridal party could relax, have a coffee and we coule capture some shots of them both inside and outside the premises. The good folk at Curated Assembly were very obliging to cater for our large group. They also made the best soy chai latte I've ever had!
We had some time before the reception began, so our team of Dani, Vanessa and Terence had a chance to wander around the Melbourne Museum. It did feel a little strange photographing a wedding one moment, and the next we learnt that some varieties of sloth have two toes whilst other sloths have three.
At 5pm when the Museum was closed to the public, up rolled the blue VW into the courtyard where we staged some fun photos. Tim and Kat set a shiny and shimmery dress theme for the reception hence the highly reflective outfits below!
